DESCRIPTION:
An early advocate of the Protestant Reformation, Bohemian born Jan Hus was a theologian and teacher. His movement and followers were referred to as Hussites. He was burned at the stake for his ideas on this day, July 6, 1415. The Czech Republic honors his martyrdom with a national holiday.
